5% For Our Community

Grosh's Lawn Service is committed to our community and giving back.

Since our humble beginning in 1990 Grosh's Lawn Service has for over 30 years given back to our local community 5% or more of our profit to make our community better and a wonderful place to live. We believe in helping our community and sharing our blessings with others as we have been blessed by God.

All we have comes from God and belongs to Him. We are only stewards who give to demonstrate His love through our hands.

CONOCOCHEAGUE — As the COVID-19 outbreak nearly cleared local store shelves of items such as toilet paper and disinfectants Friday afternoon, Tom Grosh received an urgent call at his business, Grosh’s Lawn Service in Clear Spring.

“As I was sitting in the office doing some work at the end of the day, God said to me, ‘You gotta help your fellow man,’” Grosh said.

Landscaping Contractor Hagerstown MD Gives Back At Christmas Time Washington County Community Action Council, Inc. is feeling thankful on January 22, 2020

CAC would like to share some heartwarming news with everyone on this chilly January day and send a huge THANK YOU out to Tom Grosh and Karen Kunkleman Grosh, owners of Grosh's Lawn Service for their gift of kindness and the many other community members who made their generous gift possible.

Mr. Grosh contacted CAC in mid December after reading the newspaper article about CAC and MD Food Bank's Gobble Gobble Giveaway in November, where 200 turkeys were given to residents of Washington County who were in need. Mr. Grosh was touched by the comments of the recipients of the donations and wanted to help.
Mr. Grosh purchased 200 turkeys, 200 boxes of stuffing, and 200 boxes of mashed potatoes and donated them to CAC to give to those in need.

CAC reached out to some of our partners to connect with families who could use this gift to make their holiday a little better. Thank you to Cathy Deatelhauser Santiago and her staff at Bethel Gardens, Dianne Rudisill at Hagerstown Housing Authority, and Addie Nardi and Naomia Evans at Boys & Girls Club of Washington County Maryland for taking time out of their schedules during the busy holiday season to help CAC with the distribution.

Thank you to Heather Snyder at Wal Mart in Hagerstown and her staff for helping with the pick up of the food. Thank you to Andy Bird from Wildwest Motors, Wildwestmotor Wildwestmotor, for loaning CAC a pick up truck sturdy enough for transporting the large donation. And last but not least, thank you to Darnell Shaffer, CAC volunteer, for helping with the delivery of the food.

Helen Keller said, "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." Thank you to everyone in Washington County who TOGETHER assists in helping CAC do so much! You are appreciated!

Heifer International

Dear Thomas,

We're so grateful you chose to make this generous gift to Heifer International. With over 70 years of experience in alleviating global hunger and poverty, we're well-equipped to make sure that the impact of your contribution lasts for generations.

50- Gifts of Flock of Ducks were donated by Karen and Tom Grosh and Grosh's Lawn Service. Our animal donation will support the lives of families in need. The gift of a flock of ducks has changed families' lives all over the world.

Ducks give by the dozen

Your gift of a flock of ducks gift provides project participants with a starter flock of ducklings. For millions around the world, duck eggs form the cornerstone of a healthy diet. The gift of ducks benefits families by:

  • Yield eggs and protein for nourishment
  • Boost income through sales of ducks, their eggs, feathers and down

Ducks are good for the people and for the environment. They rid the area of insects and weeds, and the eggs they lay provide protein for hungry families.

Thanks to your flock of ducks donation, families that begin with a starter flock eventually manage hundreds of ducks. The money earned from selling the ducks and their eggs can afford a family the opportunity to send their children to school.

Shout out to Tom Grosh of Grosh’s Lawn Service. He’s such a generous giver to the surrounding communities. I have to share my experience. He previously held a give-away for “Christmas in July”. I was chosen and received a generous donation to brighten the residents of my FIL’s nursing home. I allowed my FIL to suggest how the money should be used there to spread cheer. His requests were simple leaving money still available. Unfortunately he passed away before we spent the rest so it was put aside waiting for the right opportunity. When we were told that residents at a local group home were in need of some basic items (along with a special request for snack cakes) we knew where the rest of the money should go. (Not pictured but toothpastes, denture cleaners & lotions were also purchased) Many thanks to TomKaren & Grosh’s Lawn Service. You will definitely be bringing cheer to others this holiday season.
